Plein air painting is the art of painting outdoors without the use of photography or inside studio work, to create beautiful vistas of the Cape Ann area. Events are held throughout the year with the grand finale being “CAPA Week” in October where 35 preiminant painters from the around the world are juried into a competition for prizes totalling over $20,000. It is as the largest outdoor painting competition in New England and one of the top five in the country.

Sponsorships are critical in meeting our mission. Funds received through these sponsorship packages are utilized to fund the operation and marketing of the Cape Ann Plein Air competition and festival, to be held on Cape Ann October 5th – 13th, 2024. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of art goes to Cape Ann Art Haven, a 501c3 nonprofit with the mission of providing high quality art education and community building to all on Cape Ann, regardless of skill level, background or income.

Sponsors are highlighted during CAPA week at all our signature events and are featured through the year on our website, social media, newsletter and press releases.
